3 of my beauty must-haves !

by Tai September 11, 2018
written by Tai

Hi!! I’ve been away for a little bit..life is so unpredictable sometimes.  I promised to share some of my tried and true beauty finds and here they are!

  • My Foreo Luna 2 for sensitive skin.  I’ve been using mine for over a year now and it really does get my skin squeaky clean without being abrasive.  You know how some tools leave your face red with a little stinging sensation? Not this!!!  It’s like a massage for my face that really gets in and cleans my pores and when it’s done, I’m literally glowing.  Skin is smoother and soft as a baby’s bum!  Foreo Luna 2
  • TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum by Drunk Elephant.   So, yes I want to turn back the clock and have the same wrinkle-free skin from my 20’s.  Remember when your skin was all one tone and there were no dark areas and you thought that your smile lines were wrinkles?! Am I alone?  Well, this serum is like whatever that gold light was in Marsellus Wallace’s briefcase in Pulp Fiction.  That’s what I felt like I found when I tried this treasure! Those fine lines around my eyes are almost invisible after 2 months and the dark spots are seriously fading. My complexion is evening out! I’m all about this!  TLC Serum
  • Pure Marula Facial Oil by MARULA.  I’d been wanted to try Marula pure beauty oil for a while so when I saw the discounted price as an add-on to my Fabfitfun box, I  jumped on it!  It’s so worth it. I use one drop at night combined with one pump of my other serum and smooth it on my face, neck, and chest.  It leaves my skin silky smooth and hydrated and I smell like I just had a spa facial!  I don’t even need a night moisturizer for the summer. Win!!! Marula beauty oil

I’m super picky about what I use on my skin and will only recommend what I love so take the plunge and try!  If you’re already using any of these, I’d love to hear about it! So share and comment!!! Chat you later!

Glam Glow Bubbling Mask

by Tai August 29, 2018
written by Tai

Soooo, my 5 year old son said that he didn’t like it because “You look like a bad guy.”  I have to admit that he was absolutely right. When I first put it on, it was scary ….not sexy at all, so this is not what you put on when your’e still in the early phases.😉  It started off as a black fabric mask soaked in cleanser and when I put it on my damp face, it instantly started foaming up !  So cool!  (see below⬇️).  5 minutes later, after removing the mask and massaging in the cleanser, there was not a trace of makeup and my skin was so soft!!  Thumbs up on another amazing product @fabfitfun introduced me to!!

Yay!!! Time to clean out my closet…said no one Ever!

by Tai August 12, 2018
written by Tai

It’s a struggle doing it just for yourself, but when you’ve got children, multiply the joy…😅Between Pinterest and a few strategies of my own, I’ve gotten together a few tips to make it less painful.

1) Make it a habit instead of additional chore. Keep a bag in your closet that’s specifically for items you come across that don’t fit, don’t wear, are out of style, or are terribly worn (frayed, pilling, shrunken, stretched out). Do this in your kids closets also.

2) When the bag starts to get full, sort thru it and see if you’ve changed your mind about anything. Probably not. Then, do the same for each person’s bag.

3) Put the bag in the front passenger seat of your car and drop it off at the nearest donation site of your choice or…..

I like to schedule a specific date for a home pickup by one of my favorite charities. * This is key for me. If I have a date scheduled for pickup, I’ll gather up and add as much stuff as possible because I know they’re coming.🤗.  It’s like I’m tricking myself into doing it…:)

I have never felt remorseful about a single item I’ve donated since I started doing it this way!  Try my method and let me know how you like it!!

Making myself over from the inside out

by Tai June 16, 2018
written by Tai

So, this year has been life changing..not all sweetness and light, but full of revelations about life and what it is and it isn’t.  It’s been about taking responsibility for myself and my choices, owning my flaws and deciding whether to change them or embrace them. Unfortunately sometimes self-actualization means cutting ties to what you believe defined yourself and starting over.  I’m learning that  every day is a brand new chance to live the life I want.  I control my destiny and appreciate the gifts I have been given. It’s time to rock being me!wenkui-xiao-26896-unsplash

“Today I’m at peace and my mind will no longer over-analyze the past or stress about the unknown ahead.  I am present in the moments in front of my eyes.”

Love….

by Tai June 8, 2018
written by Tai

This week, I’ve been talking to my girlfriends about love, life, and relationships.  It’s amazing how we see each other as so different on the outside, but the issues we struggle with in love and life are pretty much identical. When we’re kids, love and life are so simple.  It’s almost like they’re the same thing. They’re just naturally entwined. Then we grow, and the older we get, the more the two become separate.  It feels as if life is the reality and love feels like a quest where the lucky ones will  find “the One” quickly and the rest will be destined to struggle.  In my experience, and it took me a while to figure it out, the struggles in both of these areas were because of expectations of what they “should” be. Life was supposed to be this certain way and the “right guy” would have all of these specific traits. It just doesn’t work that way. I learned that what’s good for you isn’t always what you have in mind.  The struggle was real and I finally realized that those things that didn’t come to me when I knew that I was giving the best of myself were just not right for me.  When it’s right, it just flows….it’s not complicated.  If you focus on being your best and happy with yourself, you’ll know right away  when the “right one” comes along because they will just make you feel even better. No games, no drama just a positive and uplifting connection.

Coffee Station Update!

by Tai April 30, 2018
written by Tai

Happy Monday friends!  I hope you had a great weekend!  Here’s an update on Project Coffee Station:  I found this amazing tiered tray by chance while shopping an online flash sale and the rustic wood finish matches the buffet perfectly!  (insert happy dance)  You just never know if the colors will be as pictured until it arrives but the stars were aligned and success is mine!!   Do you love it?? I do!!!   See what I mean about the matching finishes?  Next, I need to put an inspirational phrase on that chalkboard…..any volunteers with good handrwriting?!

Here’s a pin I used for inspiration and it just happens to be the same tiered tray!

<a data-pin-do=”embedPin” href=”https://www.pinterest.com/pin/246361042099908396/”></a>

I have a boatload of inspiring pins on my Pinterest  Coffe Station board and I’m certain I will alot all of the gorgeous tips along the way!  I love to  keep it fresh ! Will post more progress pics and inspiration soon!!

Project: Kitchen Coffee Station

by Tai April 11, 2018
written by Tai

Coffee. It really is life. It’s a necessity I need it to function. Seriously.  I’m not truly awake until I have it.  So, being the well-rounded diy mom that I am,😉it only makes sense that I should have my very own coffee station.  Sure, Starbucks has never failed me, but I’m in it for the whole experience. ( I also like to enjoy it in my pjs) Just add home barista to my resume!  I like the aroma. I like brewing it. I like to savor every drop like it’s my last and then make more. I like the shiny little spoons and the special pretty cups for whatever coffee drink I’m in the mood for. So, yes, this project will make me oh so happy!

For my birthday in February, I subtly hinted😉 to my husband that I would really like my own coffee station (I had a few different buffets I was eyeing for the job) Seriously, it took some time but I’ve learned this is the way to go. Just be specific and tell them what you want (with link attached) and everyone is happy! A happy wife is a happy life!

Fast forward to delivery day … I am ecstatic…elated!! The day has come. I’ve been preparing for this since Christmas. New Nespresso machine still in the box, new pour over machine, new grinder. Now comes the challenge… I’ve got to make it inviting and uniquely mine. So mark today as the beginning of this project . Please comment with any suggestions or links to decor you think would work and I’ll keep you posted with my decorating finds!

Game on!!

P.S. The tree will probably have to find a new home, but we’ll see….
